Text 27 Sep 5 notes Peter Broderick: Music For Contemporary Dance

Peter Broderick must be a restless human being. Just few days after releasing his ‘How They Are’ album that captures him in acoustic & singing inner-looking moods (read about it here), another musical piece is ready to hit your ears. And souls as well. ‘Music For Contemporary Dance’ is being released as a double vinyl on Erased Tapes label and contains two of his thematic suites. ‘Music For Falling From Trees’ was released last year and finds Broderick discovering the secrets of lunatic mind, giving a musical background for contemporary ballet of choreographer Adrienne Hart. Emotions widen from sympathy to rawness and their musical image is similarly extreme. From silent harmonious moments to maddening cacophony.

Second piece is called ‘Music for Congregation.’ Composed is similarly for a ballet performance and shows Broderick’s talent for combining piano with strings and from time to time relentless percussion. Judging by the first sprout, ‘Understanding,’ this new mini-album may be the lighter and richer brother of ‘Music For Falling From Trees.’ Either Broderick shows his darker himself, or exposes his blissful emotions, his music is everytime thoughtful and meaningful piece of art.
